I believe leadership starts with prioritizing people. When faced with the choice of engaging in a conversation or responding to an email, I almost always choose the conversation. My intuition is to nurture others so they can grow, whether it’s helping them solve a problem or simply listening.

Everyone wants to feel heard. When people feel truly heard, trust begins to form and trust is the foundation of progress. Whenever I began developing a team, one of my first steps was to assess the level of trust among team members. Over months, we would dedicate time to building that trust, often through candid conversations. In some cases, depending on the maturity of the group, we engaged in exercises that encouraged vulnerability moments that often led to tears, but always to stronger bonds.

Building Trust Through Vulnerability

Giving time, attention, and genuine interest in others activates a natural intuition to lead. Trust is not built overnight; it’s cultivated through consistent honesty and openness. By creating an environment where people felt safe to express themselves, I saw individuals transform, teams strengthen, and collaboration flourish.

Leadership as Inspiration

While there are countless definitions of leadership, I believe leaders are those who inspire followers not by authority alone, but by example. Leadership is about giving time, wisdom, encouragement, and support. When you give freely, people respond with loyalty, energy, and shared vision.

Leading On Intuition

Across industries, cultures, and generations, leadership principles endure because they’re deeply human. Leading on intuition means trusting your values, prioritizing people, and investing in relationships. It’s about seeing leadership not as a title but as a responsibility to elevate others.

If there’s one lesson my journey has taught me, it’s this: when leaders focus on people first, everything else follows.

To carry forward

How do you lead on intuition? Let’s build a conversation on leadership that transcends boundaries and continues to inspire.
